1.5 Million Indian Websites Hacked By Pakistani Hackers in Retaliation to Indian Strikes

1.5 million Indian websites hacked following Operation Sindoor by Pakistani hackers in retaliation to Indian strikes. According to Indian Maharashtra Cyber, a total of seven APT (Advanced Persistent Threat) groups performed cyberattacks that targeted critical infrastructure websites following the Pahalgam attack.

Indian media reported that the success rate of these attacks was relatively low, with only 150 attacks proving successful. This proves that the rate of failure from these cyberattacks was 99.99% and the rate of success was 0.01%.

The 7 groups of hackers that get identified in reports are

  1. APT 36
  2. Team insane PK
  3. Pakistan cyber force
  4. Cyber group HOAX 1337
  5. National cyber crew
  6. Indo hack sec
  7. Mysterious Bangladesh

Additionally, the report states that the cyberattacks not only originated from Pakistan but also from Bangladesh, the Middle East, and Indonesian groups. The additional director general of police, Maharashtra Cyber, Yashasvi Yadav, also confirmed it. These attacks did not even end after the India-Pakistan ceasefire. Many Indian government websites also reported that a barrage of disruption in online platforms came from Pakistan, Bangladesh, and the Middle East.

The hacker uses several methods to hack Indian websites, including GPS spoofing and distributed denial-of-service attacks, and more. These methods, according to the reports, were used to disrupt Indian websites. However, several hacking attempts were frustrated and Indian critical infrastructure remained safe.
