CDA Allocates Rs 1.2 Million for Using Cats to Kill Rats in Parliament House

Capital Development Authority (CDA) allocates Rs 1.2 million for using cats to kill rats in Parliament house. These specialized hunting cats, known for their effectiveness in eliminating rodents, are expected to play a crucial role in curbing the rat menace that has been plaguing the building. This decision comes in response to the increasing presence of rats wreaking havoc in the Senate and National Assembly offices.

The budget allocation underscores the urgency of the situation, as these “rat-eater” cats are expected to significantly reduce the rodent population that has been causing extensive damage to the building’s infrastructure and important documents. The infestation has become so severe that rats have reportedly gnawed on files in various parliamentary offices.

To further enhance the effectiveness of this initiative, the CDA plans to install special mesh traps throughout the Parliament House. Sources indicate that the root of the infestation may lie within the ceilings, which have become a breeding ground for the rodents.

In addition to deploying hunting cats, the CDA will also tap into the expertise of the private sector to ensure a comprehensive approach to eradicating the rat problem from the Parliament House. This multi-pronged strategy aims to restore order and protect the integrity of the country’s legislative processes from further disruption caused by the rodent invasion.
