Delay in Cooking Food Took a Woman Life in Layyah

In a shocking and tragic incident in Kot Sultan village, Korywali, Layyah, a woman named Parveen Bibi was brutally tortured to death by her in-laws  allegedly due to a delay in preparing food. The horrific event has sent shockwaves through the community, highlighting severe issues of domestic violence and women’s rights in the region.

The Kot Sultan police have taken swift action by registering a murder case based on the complaint of Abdul Majeed, the victim’s uncle. According to the police reports, Parveen’s husband, Muhammad Yusuf, along with his brothers Muhammad Ejaz, Muhammad Younis, and Nadar, confronted Parveen, questioning why there was a delay in preparing the meal. This confrontation escalated into a violent assault, with the suspects allegedly beating Parveen with clubs, resulting in severe injuries that left her unconscious.

Parveen Bibi was initially taken to the tehsil headquarters hospital. Due to the severity of her condition, she was transferred to the district headquarters hospital, and later to Nishtar Hospital in Multan, where she succumbed to her injuries despite medical efforts to save her life.

Following her death, a postmortem examination was conducted, as stated by the complainant Abdul Majeed. Layyah District Police Officer Asadur Rehman has assured the public that the suspects will be arrested and that a special team has been formed to thoroughly investigate the case. He emphasized that violence against women is unacceptable and will not be tolerated, aiming to bring justice to Parveen Bibi and her grieving family.

This tragic incident underscores the urgent need for addressing domestic violence and protecting women’s rights, prompting calls for stronger legal actions and societal change to prevent such horrors in the future.
