E-Taxi Program Online Registration Opens in Punjab: Apply Now

E-Taxi program online registration is now open across Punjab. E-taxi program is a practical embodiment of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s vision of Green & Clean Transport. It is a collaborative project of the Bank of Punjab and the Transport and Mass Transit Department to provide safe and low cost  rides. It is an environmentally friendly way to solve urban transportation problems.

Additionally, the transport department has persuaded OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers), their local licensed dealers, distributors and joint ventures to register thier  EVs (Electric Vehicle) models that match the required specifications for E-taxi schemes. This move will generate a list of eligible electric vehicles approved by the department and adhere to the performance, safety and operational standards of the project.

Moreover, to enter the programs, interested individuals must submit their application with mandated documents to the Transport department office at 11-A Egerton Road, Lahore. The applications will be accepted until June 24, 2025, by 11:00  a.m.

Furthermore, alongside the E-taxi program registration, the government will also offer a financial package, including equity payment assistance, partial coverage of vehicle registration fees and a five-year loan from a financed bank. These initiatives will support the adoption of EVs. Buyers will choose their own vehicles from an approved list and will be provided up to 6.5 million rupees per vehicle. But the buyer will be responsible for any additional cost.

However, reportedly, a meeting will be held in the committee room of the Transport department at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, 12th June 2025, to discuss potential participations of candidates. All the details from the meeting will be updated on the transport department’s online platforms.
