Federal Minister Pakistan Railway Muhammad Hanif Abbasi announced discount on train fares on Eid-ul-Fitr 2025. This happiest news for public relief brought 20% reduction in train fares extending government efforts towards public welfare.
Pakistan Railway has decided to run 4 special trains before and after Eid to facilitate travelers. This special train program gives its services from Quetta to Peshawar, Sibbi to Sukkur, Rohri to Khanewal, and lastly from Lahore to Rawalpindi.
“On 28th March, we will start our Eid program with 3 special trains departing before Eid and 1 on the third day of Eid,” Pakistan Railway Chief Executive Officer Amir Baloch claimed. “The fares reduction will apply to all mail, express, and intercity passenger trains, and this reduction would apply for all bookings on all three days of Eid, but it would not apply to Eid special trains,” he added.
Pakistan Railways has issued a notification regarding decrease in train fares to relief people on the occasion of Eid, as he stated that the sole purpose of this special discount is a source of happiness for travelers across the country on this Eid.
The Railway Minister also granted surety of safety arrangements and quality of trains after the Jaffar Express terrorist attack in Balochistan. He has announced that drone surveillance will be launched for a training program in Balochistan. At railway stations, CCTV cameras are also being installed and in other sensitive areas in the province and country to ensure safe traveling.
