Hasan Ali five wickets haul in the T20I series’ first match is a great victory for Pakistan. Hasan played his first match against Bangladesh at Gaddafi Stadium on Wednesday, 28 May 2025, after injury and made his comeback to international cricket.
In May 2024, while playing against Ireland, Hasan injured his elbow and was sustained during his County Championship stint in July 2024. He made his comeback in 2025, playing in PSL (Pakistan Super League) season 10, where he was joint second leading wicket-taker with 17 wickets, which led to his recall to the national squad.
In the first match against Bangladesh, Hasan dismissed the opening players of Bangladesh, Parvez Hossain Emon and Tanzid Hasan, creating his powerful impact within the opening overs. He earned the next two wickets in his third over by dismissing Jaker Ali (wicketkeeper-batter) and Tanzim Hasan Sakib. He finally caught Shariful Islam in his final over, completing his five-wicket haul. His excellent performance contributed to Pakistan’s 37-run victory over Bangladesh.
Taking to the media, Hasan Ali called his five-wicket haul “truly special” and praised the batting of the team for setting such a competitive goal. “The plan was straightforward. I just needed to bowl in the right areas.” He described. He also showed his gratitude to PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) and all medical teams for taking care of him during his rehabilitation. He called the phase “boring” but was needing passion and dedication.
Mike Hesson, newly appointed white-ball head coach, seems to receive a positive response from the team. Hassan said, “Hesson’s philosophy was clear: play modern and aggressive T20 cricket. We executed the fundamentals well, and I am sure he is satisfied with our performance.” Five wickets of Hassan Ali seem to boost Pakistan’s position in the T20I series against Bangladesh and a hope to win the series of 2025.
