Indus Motor Launches ‘Make in Pakistan’ Toyota Vehicles Export Program

In a landmark event at Port Qasim Authority, Karachi, Indus Motor Launches ‘Make in Pakistan’ Toyota vehicles export program which is marking a new chapter in Pakistan’s automotive industry. The ceremony was attended by Federal Minister for Industries and Production Rana Tanveer Hussain, EDB CEO Engineer Khuda Buksh, SIFC representatives, key government officials, and Toyota’s top leadership, including Toyota Motor Asia Executive Vice President Kazunari Iguchi.

IMC’s new export strategy includes the Toyota Fortuner, Hilux, and Corolla Cross models, set to be shipped to Oceanian countries. This move not only underscores IMC’s commitment to bolstering Pakistan’s presence in the global automotive market but also represents a significant economic contribution.

Federal Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain praised IMC’s efforts, stating, “It’s a proud moment to witness a renowned Pakistani company like Indus Motor stepping up to drive exports. The government’s AIDEP 21-26 policy is designed to enhance the automotive sector by promoting the export of local parts and vehicles. IMC’s leadership in this initiative sets a benchmark for the industry. We are dedicated to supporting the auto sector fully.”

Toyota’s President Kazunari Iguchi highlighted the partnership’s success, noting, “Our long-standing collaboration with IMC has proven extremely fruitful. At Toyota, we focus on developing people as well as vehicles, and this initiative showcases the growth and training of Pakistan’s workforce. We look forward to further success and continued contributions to Pakistan.”

IMC CEO Ali Asghar Jamali emphasized the significance of this milestone, stating, “Seeing the ‘Make in Pakistan’ vision extend beyond borders is a tremendous achievement for us and for Pakistan. We appreciate the support of all our stakeholders in making this possible. Being part of Toyota’s global supply chain affirms our commitment to elevating Pakistan on the world stage and strengthening our economy.”

CEO Ali Asghar Jamali further noted, “This initiative not only highlights our dedication to excellence but also our capability to compete internationally. This milestone will enhance IMC’s export capabilities and contribute significantly to Pakistan’s growing automotive sector.”
