Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz announched the “Clinics on Wheels” project during an event in Lahore today.
In her address, CM Maryam Nawaz highlighted the obstacles faced by previous initiatives under Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz’s leadership, emphasizing the time at least 3 months required to reorganize under new governance.
She noted Nawaz Sharif’s enthusiasm for project launches and emphasized the significance of the “Clinics on Wheels” initiative, emphasizing its focus on delivering healthcare directly to communities.
CM Maryam Nawaz outlined the operational details, stating that the clinics would operate in underserved areas for six days a week, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, with special provisions for pregnant women.
She pledged to bolster medical personnel, prioritizing local recruitment, and announced plans for cardiology centers across eight districts, including Mianwali, Sialkot, Jehlum, and Layyah.
Additionally, she urged the health secretary to implement a free insulin program.
Addressing on the May 9 events, CM Maryam Nawaz condemned the incident as a dark moment in the nation’s history, attributing blame to those seeking power at the expense of national stability.
She criticized the perpetrators for tarnishing the memory of martyrs and emphasized the need for accountability for those who jeopardized the nation’s integrity.
