CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz Seeks UK investment for digital Punjab Program, declaring the province’s entry into a new era of digitalisation during a meeting with British High Commissioner Jane Marriott in Murree, where PML-N President Nawaz Sharif was also present.
The meeting, which included Political Counsellor for the British High Commission Zoe Ware, focused on enhancing mutual cooperation in education, health, and climate change. Maryam Nawaz highlighted the fast-tracking of key IT projects in Punjab, particularly the Nawaz Sharif IT City and Twin Towers in Lahore, inviting British companies to invest in these ventures. She also extended an invitation to British institutions to establish IT universities in Punjab.
In addition to discussing digitalisation, Maryam Nawaz briefed Jane Marriott on Punjab’s sustainable measures to combat environmental pollution and both parties agreed to share expertise to address climate change challenges. She also outlined the Key Performance Indicators (KPI) system implemented for monitoring police and administration to improve governance. The meeting also covered the solar panel project in Punjab and explored opportunities for Punjab students to pursue higher education in top UK universities.
