The armed forces, together with the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) and the services chiefs, have vehemently condemned the “criminal acts” that occurred on May 9, 2023, labeling it a ‘Black Day’.
In a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations, the armed forces asserted that the events of that day, marked as “one of the darkest days” in national history, involved politically motivated individuals and manipulated troublemakers who deliberately targeted state institutions and defaced significant national heritage sites.
The statement emphasized the armed forces’ restraint during the orchestrated violence, thwarting the efforts of those intending to destabilize Pakistan. It highlighted the perpetrators’ subsequent attempt to propagate hate against the armed forces and the state, aiming to distort the truth and evade responsibility.
The armed forces declared their unwavering commitment to defending Pakistan’s sovereignty against both external and internal threats. They reiterated their reverence for the sacrifices of their martyrs and pledged to uphold their dignity. The statement called for unity in denouncing attempts to undermine Pakistan’s stability and urged collective efforts for the nation’s prosperity and security.
