Renowned Model and makeup artist Nadia Hussain Lahore college student incident has sparked nationwide attention, as she calls for transparency and accountability following reports of an alleged rape at a Punjab Group of Colleges. The incident led to the arrest of a campus security guard, as police launched an investigation, but Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has since termed the case a “fabricated story.”
Nadia Hussain highlighted ASP Shehrbano Naqvi, requesting the public to refrain from spreading misinformation that could further distress the victim’s family. This followed a statement from the girl’s father, who dismissed claims of sexual assault.
Nadia Hussain expressed relief that the incident “didn’t occur” and lauded the student protests that erupted across various PGC campuses. However, she cited Shehrbano Naqvi’s video to assure her followers that the Nadia Hussain Lahore college student incident may have been a case of disinformation.
Despite her statements, the model faced significant backlash from those who believe that the incident is being covered up. In response, Nadia Hussain released another video, asking anyone with concrete information to come forward and verify the claims.
Addressing the controversy, Nadia Hussain said, “I expressed my happiness that the Lahore college student incident may have been based on misinformation, but I still stand with the students who protested. Protests are important to raise awareness, but if anyone has information proving the incident did occur, they should come forward.”
Nadia Hussain clarified that she has no personal or professional ties with ASP Shehrbano Naqvi, the police, or the college involved in the investigation. She reiterated her genuine support for the students who protested in solidarity with the alleged victim. “I have always raised my voice for women and will continue to do so for the girl if the incident indeed took place,” she said.
Nadia Hussain, known for her outspoken advocacy for women’s rights, also emphasized that she will not be silenced. “I have always stood up for women, especially in cases of harassment. If this incident is proven to be true, I will raise my voice for the victim. If it’s false, I will hold those spreading misinformation accountable,” she concluded.
