NHA new motorway project, a four-lane motorway from Mansehra to Chilas, has been approved by Abdul Aleem Khan, Minister of Communication, on Friday, 9th May 2025, during a high-level meeting chaired by him. The federal secretary for communication and chairman of the NHA (National Highway Authority) provided briefings on key matters during the meeting.
The federal minister ordered the NHA (National Highway Authority) to immediately start work on a 235-kilometer highway project connecting Mansehra to Naran and onward to Chilas. The construction of the highway will meet the international standards and prioritize the needs of tourists in Northern Pakistan.
The minister directed them to continue working day and night to expedite the project’s completion. Abdul Aleem Khan also emphasized the importance of a motorway connecting Mansehra to Chilas passing through Kaghan, Naran and Jhal Kund and has called it a high-priority project that must avoid further delays. Additionally, the minister also instructed the construction of the rest areas along the N-15 route to allow tourists to take a break while traveling to the hilly region.
Furthermore, the federal minister of communication, Abdul Aleem Khan has also ordered that toll collection on the Mansehra to Chilas motorway be divided into two sections to ease travel for tourists. He emphasized that if the tolls are to be collected, the NHA (National Highway Authority) is obligated to provide high-class services on these routes. The federal minister also assigned specific tasks to NHA’s officials related to the N-15 Mansehra-Naran Motorway.
