On July 25, 2024 the federal cabinet initiated the Hurmat-e-Parcham Campaign in response to the recent desecration of the Pakistani embassy in Germany, where the national flag was removed by Afghan protesters.
Federal ministers took to social media to share images with the Pakistani flag, expressing their unwavering respect and patriotism.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, along with Federal Minister for Power Sardar Awais Leghari, Minister for Privatisation Abdul Aleem Khan, Minister for Industries and Production Rana Tanveer, and Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar, all posted photos featuring the national flag. Attaullah Tarar further emphasized the message with the couplet, “Chand Roshan Chamakta Sitara Rahey, Sab Se Oncha Yeh Jhanda Hamara Rahey,” sending a strong statement to adversaries.
Minister for Petroleum Dr. Musadik Malik, Minister of State for Finance and Revenue Ali Pervaiz Malik, and Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan also shared their solidarity through social media, proclaiming Pakistan Zindabad.
Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar called on various segments of society—including political activists, journalists, intellectuals, educators, and the youth—to join the Hurmat-e-Parcham Campaign in response to Attack on Pakistan Consulate Frankfurt in Germany. He highlighted that August, marking Pakistan’s independence, is the ideal time to reaffirm respect for the national flag as a symbol of national unity and sovereignty.
The campaign has garnered significant support and positive feedback on social media, reinforcing the collective pride and respect for Pakistan’s national symbol.
