PTI Founding Member Tragically Shot Dead in Valencia Town Lahore as he exited Khizra Mosque after offering Jumma prayer.
Dr. Shahid Siddique, who had a hospital owner and also served as the chairman of Lahore Transport Company during the PTI government, was heading to his car when an unknown assailant approached and shot him. The suspect fled the scene on foot, leaving Dr. Shahid Siddique with four bullet injuries. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, he could not survive.
Punjab police Chief Usman Anwar has ordered immediate action to apprehend the perpetrator(s) and requested a detailed report from DIG Operations. SSP Investigations Dr. Anoosh Masood, who inspected the crime scene, stated that a team led by Model Town SP Investigations was formed to arrest those responsible. She assured the family of the deceased that justice would be served.
The PTI community is devastated by this loss. Senior leader Zulfi Bukhari expressed his shock and sorrow on Twitter, emphasizing Dr. PTI Founding Member Dr. Shahid Siddique’s long-standing dedication to the party and Imran Khan. Lahore PTI President Chaudhry Asghar Gujjar also conveyed his condolences in a video message, pledging the party’s support to the bereaved family to ensure justice.
Dr. Shahid Siddique’s son, who was with him during the shooting, reported that the attacker was unidentified and the motive for the murder remains unclear. The police have shifted Dr. Shahid Siddique’s body to the morgue for autopsy as investigations continue.
