Sadia Iqbal No.1 Bowler from Pakistan, secured the top spot in the ICC’s Women’s ranking of 2025, raising Pakistan in women’s cricket. She reclaims her No. 1 spot and dethrones England’s Sophie Ecclestone because of her recent absence in matches.
Sadia Iqbal, 29 years old, is Pakistan’s famous spinner bowler and key performer in Pakistan’s successful women’s T20I World Cup campaign in 2024. She once again presented her skills and consistency in recent matches, which rewarded her with the no. 1 position in the rankings. Nashra Sandhu, another Pakistani player, also joined her in the rankings, retaining her No. 8 spot.
However, Sophie Ecclestone, England’s best spinner and named 1st in the last ranking of the ICC, now drops to 4th position after her consistent absence. Meanwhile, Lauren Bell , another England bowler, rose in rank from 13th to 6th following her excellent performance in the series against the West Indies. She took 7 wickets in the series, which moved up her rankings.
Moreover, West Indies’ Hayley Matthews has also jumped to 2nd position after her successful performance in the T20I series against England. She earned 177 runs and 3 wickets in the series, maintaining her status as an all-rounder.
The ICC’s women’s ranking has also seen the rise of England players Nat Sciver-Brunt, Heather Knight, and Sophie Dunkley after their impressive performance with the bat in the T20I series against the West Indies.
