Zakat Nisab 2026 Announced Ahead of Ramadan for All Account Holders, providing clarity for millions of Pakistani bank account holders as the holy month approaches. The Government of Pakistan has officially set the Zakat Nisab for the year 2026 at Rs. 503,529, meaning that Zakat will only be deducted from bank accounts with balances equal to or exceeding this threshold on the first day of Ramadan 1447 A.H., which is expected to fall on February 19 or February 20, 2026, depending on the sighting of the new moon.
According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety, this marks a significant rise in the Zakat threshold compared with the previous year, reflecting changes in underlying valuation factors such as the prices of precious metals. Under the policy, Zakat will be deducted at source from savings bank accounts, profit-and-loss sharing accounts, and other similar deposit accounts that meet or exceed the prescribed nisab value on the designated deduction date.
Accounts with balances below Rs. 503,529 on the first day of Ramadan will be exempt from automatic Zakat deduction. Banks and financial institutions have been directed to implement the notification and ensure that the collected Zakat amounts are deposited into the Central Zakat Account maintained with the State Bank of Pakistan.
Officials said the earlier announcement provides clarity to account holders in advance and allows individuals to check their balances before Ramadan begins. This step is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to streamline the Zakat collection process while ensuring funds are available for eligible beneficiaries during the holy month
