Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz unveiled the AI-powered Huawei Smart Classroom Project at Government Kinnaird Girls High School, Empress Road, marking a groundbreaking step in education reform. This innovative initiative, developed in collaboration with Huawei, marks a significant milestone in the integration of advanced technology into Punjab’s educational framework.
The Smart Classroom Project, a cornerstone of the “Back to School” enrollment campaign, introduces cutting-edge technology into classrooms across the province. Among the highlights are advanced cameras that record lectures, enabling students to review and engage with lessons beyond the classroom. This project not only enhances the quality of education but also makes learning more interactive and accessible for students throughout Punjab.
Huawei’s pivotal role in the Smart Classroom Project underscores its commitment to advancing educational innovation. By leveraging Huawei’s state-of-the-art technology, Punjab is setting a new standard for educational excellence and digital integration in schools. This initiative is poised to bridge the gap between public and private educational institutions, offering students in government schools the same high-quality resources as those available in top private schools.
During her visit to the Huawei Smart Classrooms, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz emphasized the transformative impact of this project. “Incorporating Huawei’s technology into our classrooms is a testament to our commitment to providing high-quality education to every student in Punjab. Our goal is to elevate every government school to the standards of the best private institutions,” she stated.
The Smart Classroom Project is also a key element of Punjab’s broader strategy to enhance its IT industry and position itself as a hub for technological innovation. This initiative aligns with the government’s vision of nurturing local talent and driving economic growth through technology.
The launch event was attended by prominent figures, including Parliamentary Secretary for School Education Nosheen Adnan and Provincial Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat, highlighting the collaborative efforts that brought this project to fruition.
