Islamabad Sector ‘E 12 Development’ Revives After 35 Years: CDA

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has announced a significant E 12 Development anti-encroachment operation in the long-stalled sector. This move is aimed at reviving development work that was initiated over 35 years ago but has remained incomplete.

During a meeting led by CDA Chairman Mohammad Ali Randhawa, senior officials decided to address the long-standing issues that have delayed the E-12 development. The sector was initially launched in 1989, with over 4,000 plots sold.

However, many plot owners have waited for decades to see progress. Some of the original buyers have even passed away, leaving families still awaiting their promised plots.

The primary reason behind the delay in E-12 development has been disputes between the CDA and local landlords over compensation for acquired land. Although partial work began a few years ago, it was halted due to conflicts with contractors and landlords.

To move forward, the CDA chairman has ordered the immediate resolution of genuine landowner disputes and action against encroachers. He also stressed the need to coordinate the operation with Islamabad Police and the administration for a smooth process. Furthermore, he emphasized the urgency of similar actions in sectors I-12 and I-15 to ensure timely project completions.
