Pakistan and China trade relations were emphasized by Ghulam Qadir, the Trade and Investment Counsellor at the Pakistan Embassy in Beijing, highlighting Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening these ties. Speaking at the “Hubei Province Theme Day” seminar during the 2024 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), he emphasized Pakistan’s eagerness to bolster trade ties with Hubei, China.
Hubei showcases remarkable advancements in productive forces, high-quality services, and cutting-edge applications across various sectors. Ghulam Qadir stated, “Pakistan is looking forward to further expanding cooperation in these sectors,” reinforcing the potential for collaboration.
Highlighting Pakistan’s strategic advantages for Chinese businesses, Ghulam Qadir noted, “Pakistan is uniquely positioned to offer a wealth of economic resources, favourable policies, a vast domestic market, and access to major regional and global markets.” He further stressed that these elements create an ideal environment for Chinese companies to establish Pakistan as a hub for exports to key markets.
Separately, Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi, inaugurated the country’s pavilion at the 2024 CIFTIS, symbolizing a joint effort between China and Pakistan to promote investment opportunities and bilateral trade. As the chief guest, Ambassador Khalil Hashmi highlighted the pavilion’s significance in providing valuable business opportunities for Pakistani stakeholders.
Khalil Hashmi remarked, “This major fair highlights Beijing’s unique appeal, attracting talent, capital, and management practices.” He added that the CIFTIS plays a crucial role in creating significant impact and value.
This year, approximately 80 countries and international organizations set up stalls at CIFTIS, with over 450 Fortune 500 companies and industry leaders participating in the offline exhibition. In a groundbreaking initiative, the Pakistani embassy directly engaged with the business community, resulting in more than 15 exhibitors making their debut at the event.
The embassy also invited the Export Processing Zones Authority and the Special Economic Zone Authority to present the incentives and policies available for Chinese investors in Pakistan.

Ambassador Khalil Hashmi noted, “Chinese investors have the opportunity to establish manufacturing units in Pakistan, enabling exports to the European Union and the Middle East, where we have finalized a free trade agreement.”
