Fawad Chaudhary Adnan Sami Khan Indian citizenship is the latest heated topic on the internet. A war of words is running between Adnan Sami Khan (singer) and Fawad Chaudhry , the former federal minister, after India’s directive asking Pakistani nationals to leave the country.
The argument started after Fawad commented on Amit Shah’s , the Indian Home Minister’s, recent post ordering Pakistani citizens to leave India before 27 April 2025, while medical visa holders can stay till 29 April 2025 . Fawad posted on X, “What about Adnan Sami?” asking if the singer would also be expelled or not. Although Adnan Sami, who disowned his Pakistani nationality and became an Indian national in 2016, answered Fawad by calling him an “illiterate idiot” and reminding him of his legal status.
In response, Fawad said, “ Adnan Sami is from Lahore,” and added a taunt: “Our very own Lahori Adnan Sami aisay lag rahay hein jaisey balloon se hawa nikal chuki hoo (our very own Adnan Sami from Lahore looks like all the air has been gone out of a balloon). Get well soon, @AdnanSamiLive.” Sami fired back, stating his roots were not from Lahore but from Peshawar and criticizing Fawad by saying, “You were Minister of (Mis)Information and yet lack basic knowledge!”
Continuing the argument, Sami added satirically, “Meri to hawa nikal gaee—tu abhi bhi ballon hai (the air has been gone out of me but still are a balloon)and you were Minister of Science.”
The relationship between Pakistan and India gets worse after the attack of April 22, 2025, in Pahalgam, Kashmir, which takes 26 lives of Indian tourists. In response, India suspended visa services for Pakistanis and ordered them to depart by April 27, 2025. Additionally, existing visas of Pakistani nationals will be revoked and overstaying Pakistanis will be treated as violating immigration laws.
