  • Marks: at least 55% in FA/F.Sc./A-Level or equivalent.
  • LAT: HEC Law Admission Test with at least 50% and a validity date that covers admission.

Eligibility on the Law College page

University of the Punjab’s Law College programme page states that admission (open merit and listed reserved seats) is open to candidates who:

  1. Passed FA/F.Sc./A-Level or equivalent with a minimum of 55% marks.
  2. Passed the Law Admission Test (LAT) conducted by HEC with 50% marks and a validity date for admission.
  3. Appeared in the PU Admission Test conducted by Punjab University.
  4. Are not more than 24 years of age.

Candidates must provide IBCC equivalence/verification when required. Reserved kinship seats for judges’ and lawyers’ relatives follow the percentages and certificate rules printed on the same page. Those reserved rules are part of Punjab University LLB admission planning if you intend to claim them.

Merit math is where many Punjab University LLB admission hopes rise or fall after the tests.

Merit formula and seats

The page publishes this merit approach: 75% weightage of the academic component written as one-fourth of Matric/O-Level (or equivalent) marks plus total intermediate/A-Level marks, plus 25% weightage of the Punjab University entry test, plus additional marks if any. Additional marks include 20 for Hafiz-e-Quran and 25 for each of up to two listed electives (Civics/Political Science, Philosophy, English Literature, Sociology, Law, Economics).

Seats shown for the morning programme: Merit 118, Reserve 32, Total 150. Session timing is listed as September/October with a semester system and a four-year duration on the current LLB 04-Yrs title.

Never skip LAT while waiting for a PU test rumour; both sit inside current Punjab University LLB admission rules.

LAT and PU Admission Test

PU’s admission notice for the undergraduate admission test in academic year 2026-27 states that both LAT and the PU Admission Test are mandatory for admission to LLB programmes. A first test sitting was described as tentatively scheduled on 14 June 2026, with a later second-test notice also published for the same academic year. Always re-read the live notice numbers under pu.edu.pk admission notices because schedules move.

Admission Regulations 2026-27 on pu.edu.pk still discuss undergraduate entry tests and list LLB among programmes. Use the Law College programme page for the LLB-specific percentage and LAT rules when the general book and the department page differ in wording.

2026-27 cycle status (plain language)

As of this update:

  • Announced: eligibility, merit formula, seats, and four-year morning programme labelling on the Law College page.
  • Announced: Phase-2 vacant-seat undergraduate admissions on notice 719, online only, 8 September 2026 (08:00) to 28 September 2026 (23:59), including LLB (M) Four Year on the listed campus line.
  • Closed: that Phase-2 application window (dates are in the past relative to 3 November 2026).
  • Not invented here: any brand-new November 2026 merit list, fee challan date, or extra test that PU has not posted yet. Check notices and admissions.pu.edu.pk directly.

Older 2024 dates that once appeared on this URL are removed so readers do not treat them as live Punjab University LLB admission deadlines.

Fake portals often reuse the phrase Punjab University LLB admission with payment buttons that are not on pu.edu.pk.

How to apply without fake portals

  1. Read the Law College LLB programme page and save a PDF copy.
  2. Confirm LAT validity and PU test appearance.
  3. Open only the admissions links from pu.edu.pk (admissions.pu.edu.pk or the host printed on the notice).
  4. For vacant-seat rounds, follow the exact first-come rules and challan timing PU prints.
  5. Ignore third-party “guaranteed seat” agents.

Hostel supply is limited; notice 719 states the university is not bound to house all admitted students and that some programme types are ineligible for hostel. Plan accommodation separately.

Reserved seats and documents

University Law College publishes reserved seats for kin of superior-court judges, subordinate judiciary officers in Punjab, and lawyers with at least ten years’ lower-court standing, with small percentage caps and priority orders. Applications need kinship certificates from the competent authority named on the page (registrar of the court, Provincial Bar Council secretary, or PU registrar for employee kin categories listed in university policy).

If a reserved seat remains empty, the page explains how priorities cascade and when leftovers move to open merit. Candidates chasing Punjab University LLB admission on kinship claims should prepare those certificates early; missing paperwork usually drops you to open-merit competition instead of holding a seat.

Self-supporting or replica programme labels, when offered on other campuses, may carry different hostel rules. Notice 719 already warns that some programme types are ineligible for hostel allotment.
