Shilpa Shetty Husband Properties have come under scrutiny as India’s Enforcement Directorate (ED) intensifies its investigation into businessman Raj Kundra. The agency has conducted extensive raids across 15 locations, including Kundra’s Juhu residence, as part of its ongoing probe into allegations of pornography production and money laundering.
ED Investigates Shilpa Shetty Husband Properties in Legal Case
The ED’s investigation stems from a money laundering case registered in May 2022, linked to an earlier FIR filed by Mumbai police in 2021. The allegations claim that Kundra managed a pornography operation, creating and distributing explicit material through apps such as HotHit Movies and Hotshots. Hotshots, initially developed by Kundra’s company Armsprime Media Private Limited, was later sold to a UK-based firm owned by his brother-in-law, Pradeep Bakshi.
Authorities are now extending the investigation beyond the pornography case to examine Kundra’s financial activities. This includes a 2017 Bitcoin fraud scandal in which investors reportedly lost INR66 billion. The scheme promised a 10% monthly return through Bitcoin mining activities but allegedly funneled the funds into concealed cryptocurrency wallets.
Financial Scrutiny Expands
In April 2024, the ED temporarily seized assets valued at INR 977.9 million under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act. These include a Juhu flat registered in Shilpa Shetty’s name, a Pune bungalow, and equity shares. The attachment reinforces the agency’s effort to trace additional financial links.
The ED’s investigations into Shilpa Shetty Husband Properties are part of broader raids involving Kundra’s associates. Investigators aim to uncover concealed funds and trace potential overseas financial transactions.
Continued Legal Challenges
Raj Kundra has faced legal troubles before, including a 2021 raid by Mumbai police on a Madh Island bungalow allegedly used for shooting pornographic content. He was identified as a key conspirator, arrested in July 2021, and later granted bail after spending two months in jail.
The ED’s recent raids underscore its commitment to uncovering further evidence and resolving complex allegations tied to Shilpa Shetty Husband Properties and financial misconduct.
