An Update on Revision of Rental Ceilings and Hiring Rates for federal employees is expected soon, as the Ministry of Housing and Works has initiated a survey to evaluate current housing costs for federal employees. The survey is expected to result in adjustments to rental allowances, potentially increasing them by up to 45%. However, The Ministry of Housing and Works confirmed that previous news about increase in House Rent Allowances were just rumors and the figures widely circulated about grade-wise increase before are not final and no official decision has been made regarding the new hiring rates or rental ceilings. Moreover the survey is covering major cities like Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Karachi, Lahore, Quetta and Peshawar.
