Punjab to Open Applications for Teacher Transfers Next Week. On the directive of Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat, the first phase of hardship transfers in the province’s education sector commenced.
Initially, August 12, 2024 was designated as the start date for teacher transfer applications, according to a statement from the minister’s spokesperson. However, for the convenience of teachers, the minister has divided the transfer process into two phases. The first phase, specifically for hardship transfers, begins today, August 8, and will continue until August 10, 2024.
Applications for hardship transfers can be submitted directly to the respective District CEOs, without the need to apply through the School Education Department website (SIS), the spokesperson clarified.
In the second phase, general transfer applications can be submitted via the SIS website starting Monday, August 12, with the submission window open until August 31, 2024. These applications will be verified from September 1 to 5, with the final transfer decisions to be made by September 13, 2024.
Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat emphasized that merit will be the top priority in all transfers, with no recommendations being entertained and no rights being denied. To ensure transparency, he instructed that a copy of the hand-submitted application must be uploaded to the provided Google form.
“I will personally review all applications and related matters,” Rana Sikandar Hayat stated, adding that the applications have been categorized based on wedlock, divorce, widowhood, disability, serious illness, long-distance, and other criteria.
“We are committed to ensuring that female teachers are not required to travel long distances, and that differently-abled individuals are not unfairly competed against,” he concluded.
