An accountability court approved 11-day physical remand for Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi, in a new Toshakhana case.
The couple was presented in a makeshift courtroom at Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail after completing a 10-day physical remand in the same case.
Deputy Director of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Mohsin Haroon, and Prosecutor General Muzaffar Abbasi requested a 14-day remand from Judge Nasir Javed Rana. However, the court granted an 11-day remand and adjourned the proceedings until August 19, 2024.
On August 6, 2024 a NAB team led by Assistant Director Umar Wasim interrogated Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi at the Adiala Jail in connection with the Toshakhana case. Jail sources reported that later, NAB official Haroon and his team also joined the investigation, spending six hours probing the new reference against the former first couple.
