The Strategic Vision Institute (SVI) proudly organized the Islamabad Non Proliferation Conference 2024, a two-day international event that attracted a distinguished group of scholars, policymakers, and experts from across the globe. The Non Proliferation Conference 2024 was designed to facilitate constructive dialogue on global strategic issues while presenting Pakistan’s key policy perspectives on non-proliferation.
The conference, which holds significant importance for Pakistan and the international community, was hosted in collaboration with the military’s media wing, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), which emphasized the country’s commitment to global security.
General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, NI (M), Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, served as the Chief Guest of the Non-Proliferation Conference 2024, underscoring the high-level participation and significance of the event. His presence highlighted Pakistan’s military leadership’s support for advancing discussions on non-proliferation.
Additionally, keynote addresses were delivered by top Pakistani policymakers and military experts, including General Zubair Mehmood Hayat (Retired), the former Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, Lt Gen Khalid Ahmed Kidwai, Advisor to the National Command Authority (NCA), and Lt Gen Sarfraz Sattar, also an Advisor to the NCA. These addresses provided valuable insights into Pakistan’s strategies and commitments toward non-proliferation, further solidifying the country’s role in global security efforts.
The Non-Proliferation Conference 2024 brought together notable international scholars from prestigious institutions such as the Institute of World Economy and International Relations of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Center for Energy and Security Studies in Russia, the China Institute of Contemporary International Relations, and the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, the Royal United Services Institute.
Moscow State Institute of International Relations, Saint Petersburg State University, Shanghai University, Peking University, University at Albany, and the University of Birmingham. These participants presented a diverse range of perspectives, adding depth to discussions on non-proliferation and global security.
This high-level international conference not only reinforced Pakistan’s dedication to non-proliferation efforts but also highlighted the importance of strategic dialogue in maintaining both regional and international security.
