Babar Azam birthday wishes from fellow cricketers have flooded in, celebrating the former Pakistan captain and star batter’s remarkable contributions to the sport. The cricketing community, including both teammates and international peers, has flooded social media with admiration for Babar Azam’s unwavering dedication and exceptional talent.
As Babar Azam celebrates his 30th birthday, he is taking a brief rest during the second and third matches of Pakistan’s ongoing Test series against England. This break marks a rare moment, as it’s the first time Babar has been left out of the playing XI since his debut in 2015 for white-ball cricket and his Test debut against the West Indies in 2016.
Babar Azam quickly rose to prominence, making headlines with three consecutive centuries in an ODI series against the West Indies in 2016. His incredible performance saw him dethrone Indian cricket icon Virat Kohli as the world’s number one ODI batsman in 2021, a position he still holds today.
Despite facing a dip in form, especially in Test cricket, where Babar Azam has fallen outside the top 10 rankings, his prowess in T20 remains strong, where he is currently ranked fourth globally. To celebrate this special occasion, fellow cricketers didn’t hold back from showering Babar Azam with birthday wishes, recognizing his unmatched batting class and leadership skills.
Shadab Khan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf, Aamir Jamal, and Salman Ali Agha were among the many who paid tribute to Babar Azam on social media. Shadab Khan, sharing a heartfelt post on Instagram, uploaded a picture of himself with Babar, both proudly donning their green jerseys.
Shadab Khan, in his caption, Shadab expressed, “Happy birthday @babarazam. May you have a great year on & off the field. Everyone knows your batting class.”
Shaheen Shah Afridi, who was also ‘rested’ during the Test series against England, took to his Instagram Story to send his birthday wishes to the batter.
He wrote, “Wishing you a great year ahead.”
Fellow cricketer Haris Rauf, who was recently seen leading The Stallions in the domestic Champions One-Day Cup, wished the former captain on his Instagram Story, writing, ”Tusi great hoo.”
“Happy birthday brother,” he added.
All-rounder Salman Ali Agha also shared his love for the batter via Instagram, wishing him a “wonderful year ahead”.
While Aamir Jamal wished for Babar to continue “shine and shine more than ever”.
