Deported Pakistani’s numbers and begging growing unbelievably in Pakistan and are becoming a huge problem. For its prevention, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi instructed strict regulations against them. These include blocking the passport of each who was deported from other countries like the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Sweden, and the US and tightening the procedures of passport issuance.
On Thursday, April 10, 2025, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi supervised the meeting. Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, Interior Secretary Muhammad Khurram Agha, DG FIA Mukhtar Raja, and DG Passport Mustafa Jamal Qazi were present during his visit to the Directorate of Immigration and Passport.
In his meeting, the minister directed authorities to promptly finalize all legal procedures for enforcing the new passport regulations to deter illegal migration and organized begging networks. He also states that these new initiatives aim to play an important role in preventing begging and illegal migration and restoring Pakistan’s international image.
“This decisive move sends a positive and strong signal to the global community about Pakistan’s commitment to maintaining law and order,” Talal Chaudhry added to the minister’s statement.
Minister Mohsin Naqvi also strictly instructed to block the passports of individual Pakistanis for enforcement across the country as a part of combat. He also scrutinized six recently installed Machine Readable Passport (MRP) units and two e-passport systems at the Directorate. A German technical team, who installed all machines, gave a detailed explanation of its operational upgrades.
“ The introduction of these advanced machines will significantly enhance the capacity of passport offices, enabling quicker and more efficient passport issuance,” the minister praised the progress. Moreover, DG Passport Mustafa Jamal Qazi also announced the launch of a mobile application that will help applicants to easily access passport services.
These initiatives are aimed at focusing on controlling illegal immigration and begging and strengthening the international image and standard of Pakistan.
