GCU Lahore Introduces New Dress Code Policy for University Students

Government College University (GCU) Lahore introduces new Dress Code Policy for university students, prohibiting students from wearing jeans and T-shirts on campus. According to a notification issued by the university, male students are now required to wear dress pants and shirts, while female students are directed to “observe simplicity” by wearing only cotton dresses.

The dress code is mandatory for all undergraduate and postgraduate students and is part of GCU’s broader initiative to enforce discipline and maintain decorum. The guidelines published on the GCU website, emphasizes that all students must adhere to the new instructions.

The university has also warned that non-compliance with the dress code could result in penalties. “Students not dressed up appropriately, can be checked by any proctor within the university premises and will be fined for non observance of guidelines,” the instructions state.

This policy has sparked discussions among students and faculty, as the university strives to uphold its traditions while adapting to modern educational standards.
