The Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has announced updated athletes selection criteria for its affiliated National Sports Federations, aimed at ensuring a merit-based selection process for athletes representing Pakistan in international sports events. This initiative is designed to enhance transparency and accountability in selecting players for global competitions.
As part of the new athletes selection criteria, all national sports federations are now required to submit a “Player Profile Proforma” when applying for a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for participation in international events. This proforma must outline each athlete’s achievements, credentials, and the rationale behind their selection.
Moreover, federations must provide a formal certification confirming that athletes were chosen strictly based on merit, in line with the updated athlete’s selection criteria.
The PSB-Pakistan Sports Board has also mandated the submission of a “Post-Event Evaluation Form” after each event’s conclusion. This form, along with the Player Profile Proforma, will be accessible to the public on the PSB’s website under the new “Foreign Sports Events” section, promoting further transparency in the selection process.
