US Visa Applications from Pakistan highlights the significant increase in the number of Pakistanis seeking to travel to the United States. Recent reports indicate that the volume of these applications is expected to reach an all-time high in 2024
This increase follows a notable reduction in the US visa application processing time, with over 10,000 applications processed monthly.
US Embassy officials stated that the number of visas issued from the Karachi Consulate and the US Embassy in Islamabad reached an all-time high in 2023. “By October 2024, this number will surpass last year’s record, as visa applications from Pakistan have increased,” they said.
Previously, the visa processing time extended up to 440 days due to a crisis. Officials noted that the primary cause of the delay was the individual review of each application. The processing time has now been reduced to 237 days following emergency measures, with further reductions anticipated.
Officials clarified that aside from the processing time, no other changes have been made to visa regulations. Additional visa officers have been deployed to expedite the application process.
The visa section prioritizes student visa applications. Applicants who have previously been issued a visa are exempt from re-interview, the embassy officials added.
