In a recent development, Hasan Ali speaks out on the controversial Mohammad Hafeez claims of players napping during the Test series against Australia. The fast bowler has addressed Mohammad Hafeez’s claims, clarifying the situation and providing his perspective on the matter. This response comes amid growing interest and debate over player discipline and management during the series.Hasan Ali’s comments aim to shed light on the claims and offer a clearer understanding of what transpired during those crucial matches.
Mohammad Hafeez, who served as the team’s director and interim head coach from November 2023 to February 2024, expressed his frustration about player discipline during a discussion with cricket legends Michael Vaughan and Adam Gilchrist.
Mohammad Hafeez criticized the team’s behavior, stating, “You tell me, Gilly, if a player is sleeping in the dressing room while we’re playing Test cricket. Four to five players were found sleeping. Should I tolerate that as a team director?” Vaughan responded with a light-hearted comment, asking, “Are they tired?” to whichMohammad Hafeez replied seriously, “I was shocked to find players napping during the game. Such behavior is unacceptable.”
In response, Hasan Ali offered his perspective in an exclusive interview with a local sports outlet. “I can’t say for sure, but it might be as Mohammad Hafeez described. When he made those remarks, I wasn’t involved in the first game. Players not in the playing XI were indeed in the dugout, including the management. Fast bowlers, in particular, might need short naps for recovery after extended spells, but if Mohammad Hafeez, as head coach, set a rule against sleeping, we would have adhered to it,” Hasan Ali explained.
