In an interview, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif dismissed PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan’s assertions regarding pressure on Imran Khan to accept a deal. Asif emphasized that there is no truth to these claims.
Gohar Khan, speaking outside the Parliament House, initially denied making statements about pressure for a deal with Imran Khan but later hinted at it, citing the circumstances surrounding Imran Khan’s detention as potential pressure tactics.
Rejecting Gohar’s assertions, Asif highlighted that reputable PTI members had previously stated no such deal was in progress.
When questioned about relations between the PTI-led Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and the Centre, Khawaja Asif stressed the importance of maintaining positive relations and urged against any actions that could strain them further.
He also cautioned against the potential implementation of governor rule in the province, emphasizing the need for political forces to avoid such scenarios.
