Al Khidmat Foundation Free Laptop Scheme: Everything You Need to Know

The Al Khidmat Foundation Free Laptop Scheme is a forward-thinking initiative aimed at equipping Pakistan’s youth with the necessary tools to thrive in the global digital economy. Launched by Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan, this scheme rewards high-performing graduates of the BanoQabil program with free laptops, fostering skill development and empowering them to seize international opportunities.

What is the Al Khidmat Foundation Free Laptop Scheme?

Engineer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman, Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, announced this initiative during a massive aptitude test event for BanoQabil 4.0 in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Karachi. The scheme is designed to recognize and reward outstanding students while providing them with the resources to succeed in the competitive global IT market.

In its first phase, the program will distribute 10,000 laptops to exceptional graduates, with plans to expand further in upcoming phases. This initiative not only highlights the importance of education and skill development but also demonstrates a long-term commitment to addressing the digital divide in Pakistan.

Advocating for an Equal Education System

During the event, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman emphasized the need for a standardized and equitable educational framework across Pakistan. He called for “one standard, one system, and one syllabus” to ensure that every citizen, regardless of socio-economic background, has access to quality education.

Expanded Support for Emerging Skills

The Al Khidmat Foundation Free Laptop Scheme is part of JI’s broader mission to empower youth through skill development. Pakistan’s young population represents a significant demographic advantage, with over 60% under 30 years old. Hafiz Naeemur Rehman urged the youth to focus on acquiring in-demand skills, particularly in technology and IT-based exports, which have the potential to transform Pakistan’s economy.

Building on the success of the BanoQabil program, which has graduated over 48,000 students in just two years, this scheme also offers professional development workshops, internships, and job placement assistance to ensure graduates are ready to tackle global challenges.

Enhancing Economic Opportunities with Free Laptops

The distribution of laptops under the scheme will empower students to participate in online education, freelancing, and international markets. These devices are pre-installed with necessary tools and software, enabling graduates to start work immediately. Hafiz Naeemur Rehman noted that the initiative directly aligns with Pakistan’s vision of becoming a digital economy leader.

Future Expansion of the Scheme

Building on the initial success, the program aims to expand in future phases to include graduates from additional skill development programs. JI is actively collaborating with private sector partners to ensure the sustainability and growth of the scheme. Plans are also underway to introduce technical support and maintenance centers for laptop recipients, ensuring long-term usability.

Inspiring the Nation’s Youth

Addressing the attendees, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman urged young Pakistanis to take charge of their futures by rejecting corruption and embracing innovation. He encouraged them to remain hopeful and actively contribute to Pakistan’s progress, emphasizing that the nation’s future belongs to its youth.

The Al Khidmat Foundation Free Laptop Scheme exemplifies JI’s vision of fostering a digitally empowered, skilled, and motivated generation, ready to lead Pakistan into a prosperous future.

PM Shehbaz Sharif launched the free eBike Scheme during a meeting on accelerating electric vehicle adoption in Pakistan. High-performing students in government schools will receive electric bikes, promoting academic excellence and environmental responsibility.

The initiative aims to reduce reliance on imported fuels, conserve foreign reserves, and promote clean energy. The Prime Minister urged creating a financial model, enhancing EV manufacturing, and implementing electric public transport in Islamabad to ensure sustainability.
