Arshad Nadeem chases for Olympics Medal achievement in Paris 2024 represents Pakistan’s hope to end a long medal drought. Since the 1992 Olympics, Pakistan has not secured a medal, but Arshad Nadeem is confident in his fitness and preparation, vowing to “try his best” for a podium finish in the French capital.

Ahead of his departure, Arshad Nadeemshared with reporters, “I’m fit, well-prepared, and have worked really hard for this prestigious event. I believe I can achieve my goal of winning a medal.”

The 27-year-old will compete in the qualification round on August 6, 2024, with the final slated for two days later. As Pakistan’s flag-bearer, ArshadNadeem is the nation’s leading hope, having won gold at the Commonwealth Games two years ago and finishing runner-up at the World Athletics Championship last year. He is set to renew his rivalry with India’s Neeraj Chopra in Paris.

“I will continue training in Paris to improve before the competition. If everything goes to plan, I will win a medal for Pakistan,” Arshad Nadeemadded. “The target is high, but my ambitions are higher. I am in great shape to make the nation proud.”

ArshadNadeem finished fifth at the Tokyo 2021 Olympics, where he became the first Pakistani athlete to qualify. He emphasized the need for more training venues in the country to support athletes’ development.
