Babar Azam to Bat at Number 4 in Opening Test Match Against Bangladesh

In a strategic move for the upcoming Test series, Pakistan’s star Babar Azam to Bat at Number 4 in the first Test Series against Bangladesh.

The batting order will see Abdullah Shafiq remaining as an opener, while captain Shan Masood is set to bat at number three. Additionally, Muhammad Huraira is strongly positioned to make his debut in the match.

The first Test match will take place in Rawalpindi from August 21 to 25, followed by the second Test in Karachi from August 30 to September 3, 2024 as part of the ICC World Test Championship fixtures.

Sources indicated that the pitch in Rawalpindi is expected to favor bowlers, leading the Pakistan team to field three fast bowlers and one spinner. The fast bowling lineup will include Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, and Mir Hamza as the third bowler.

The Bangladesh men’s cricket team arrived in Lahore from Dhaka on August 13, 2024 ready to compete in the two-match Test series against Pakistan.
