WhatsApp Launched AR Feature for IOS Apple Phone Users

WhatsApp is set to enhance the video calling experience for iOS users with its new AR feature for call effects and filters, a capability that was previously exclusive to Android users. As reported, earlier this year, Meta’s instant messaging platform introduced the AR feature for call effects and filters on Android, elevating personalization and interactivity during video calls.

With the latest beta update for iOS (version 24.17.10.74), WhatsApp is now expanding this innovative AR feature to iOS users, allowing them to explore the same engaging effects available on the Android platform. Currently, the feature is accessible only to beta testers who install the latest WhatsApp beta via the TestFlight app, but a broader rollout is expected in the coming weeks.

The new AR feature includes a variety of dynamic facial filters designed to enhance video calls. Users can customize their appearance in real-time, adjusting the overall color tone of their video feed to suit their preferences. WhatsApp has also introduced a background editing tool, enabling users to blur their surroundings or replace them with pre-set backgrounds for added flair.

In addition, the update includes a low-light mode toggle to improve visibility in dim environments, making it ideal for evening calls or users in low-light situations. The touch-up mode provides a subtle filter to smooth skin imperfections, offering a polished look during video chats.

Notably, WhatsApp remembers users’ previous configuration settings for new video calls, such as the selected background and color filter. This feature eliminates the need for constant adjustments, as WhatsApp automatically applies the last used settings, enhancing user convenience.
