31000 Jobs Terminated From Grade 1 to 22 By Federal Government

31000 jobs terminated by the federal government, and they are aiming to cut more. In the public sector, they had already eliminated 30,968 posts, and in coming phases, they intended to abolish 7,724 more posts.

Kamran Ali Afzal, the cabinet secretary, updated the Senate Standing Committee on Finance. Most of the eliminated posts are in Grade 1, with 7305 already abolished and 4253 more to be removed.

Moreover, higher-grade posts have also been affected. In Grades 21 and 22, two positions from each have been removed, with 36 in Grade 20 and 99 in Grade 19, and they plan to cut 71 more positions in Grade 19.

Additionally, 203 posts had already been eliminated in Grade 18, and 36 more were selected for dismissal. Similarly, in Grade 17, 760 posts have been abolished along with 58 posts for removal.

The committee was also informed that these removals have already formed PKR 30 billion of saving for the national exchequer, with more expected after more elimination

Furthermore, the government also ended the ”son quota” policy. In which a government job was granted to the family member of the employee who died during service. To enforce the revised policy, The Establishment Division has instructed the rules to all divisions and ministries
