K-Electric Extends Payment Deadline for bills from July to August 10, 2024. This decision follows Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s directives to extend the deadline for electricity bill payments by 10 days to alleviate public stress.
Consumers now have until August 10, 2024 to pay their bills, according to a KE spokesperson. “Those submitting their bills with a late payment surcharge will be adjusted next month,” the spokesperson added.
This extension will also apply to the next month, allowing KE consumers to pay their bills by September 10, 2024. Last week, the Prime Minister instructed the Ministry of Energy to issue this extension, and the Power Division subsequently ordered all power distribution companies, including KE, to implement it for the July and August 2024 bills.
The Prime Minister’s directive aims to ease the burden on consumers facing inflated electricity bills, as noted by the Power Division. This one-month extension is effective for the July bills, moving the original due date from August 7 to August 17, 2024. The August bills will now be due on September 17, 2024 Â maintaining a consistent one-month interval between due dates.
