Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch affirmed, “Pakistan will support all efforts to prevent a war in the Middle East.” However, she did not provide details on whether Islamabad has engaged with Washington regarding the situation.
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) recently held Israel accountable for the assassination of prominent Hamas and Hezbollah figures. Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar condemned Israeli actions, describing them as brutal and damaging to the fragile region. He urged for de-escalation and an end to violence.
In response to unfounded rumors about Pakistan supplying arms to Iran, Baloch dismissed these as baseless with a malicious agenda. She stressed the importance of verifying information and avoiding “fake news” during this critical period.
Addressing speculation about Pakistan’s involvement in the political crisis in Bangladesh, Baloch refuted claims of Pakistani intelligence agency involvement in the ousting of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. She criticized India’s tendency to blame Pakistan for its internal and external issues and reaffirmed Pakistan’s supportive stance towards Bangladesh.
On US-India defense cooperation, Baloch expressed concerns over references to Pakistan in the proposed US-India Defence Cooperation Act. She urged the US Congress to focus on positive bilateral dynamics and mutual collaboration rather than creating barriers.
