Huawei ICT Training Program to Upskill 300,000 Students in Pakistan

Huawei ICT Training Program, launched by the world’s leading information and communications technology provider, aims to train 300,000 young Pakistanis in ICT infrastructure and smart devices. This initiative, known as the Huawei ICT Training Program, aims to enhance the skill set of the youth in Pakistan and bridge the gap in technical education.

During a recent visit to Huawei’s Islamabad office, Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Program, Rana Mashood, engaged in discussions regarding the implementation of this comprehensive training program. The meeting followed critical technical discussions held on September 4th and 5th, representing a significant step towards integrating Huawei’s advanced training resources into Pakistan’s educational framework.

This strategic partnership, guided by the directives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, seeks to leverage Huawei’s global expertise and cutting-edge training materials to enhance technical education in Pakistan. The Huawei ICT Training Program is expected to significantly elevate the quality and reach of technical education, fostering skill development and innovation across the nation. The National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) will serve as the implementation partner under the Prime Minister’s Youth Skill Development Programme.

The collaboration builds on the foundation established during Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to Huawei’s headquarters in China, highlighting the commitment to advancing Pakistan’s technical education landscape. During this visit, he invited Huawei to invest in various sectors, including taxation, e-governance, and Safe City projects in Pakistan.

Huawei Chairman Liang Hua welcomed the Prime Minister at the headquarters, where they discussed Huawei’s global operations, particularly in Pakistan. The Prime Minister appreciated Huawei’s innovative operations and encouraged the company to increase its investments in the country, especially in areas related to e-governance, digital banking, telecommunication, and artificial intelligence.
