Deputy PM Ishaq Dar met OIC Secretary General to discuss Urgent Need Gaza Ceasefire and Aid Delivery during the Open-Ended Extraordinary Meeting of the OIC Executive Committee.
During the meeting, they addressed the crises in Gaza and Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), highlighting the ongoing genocide of Palestinians and the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza and the West Bank.
Both leaders stressed the urgency of a ceasefire and the need for unhindered humanitarian assistance for Palestinians. Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar praised the OIC’s peace efforts in the Middle East and reaffirmed Pakistan’s full support for its initiatives.
Ishaq Dar commended the OIC Contact Group on Jammu and Kashmir and the Special Envoy for Jammu and Kashmir for backing the Kashmiris’ legitimate right to self-determination, as reflected in various OIC resolutions and statements.
The meeting also addressed issues of Islamophobia, discrimination, and violence against Muslims. The deputy prime minister lauded the appointment of the OIC Secretary General’s Special Envoy on Islamophobia, expressing hope that the envoy would effectively lead the campaign against this critical issue.
