The 16-year-old prodigy triumphed in Sri Lanka, showcasing his exceptional skills by winning 19 out of 23 games throughout the championship. This impressive performance not only earned him the title of World Youth Scrabble Champion but also solidified Pakistan’s position as the most successful nation in the history of the WYSC.

The World Youth Scrabble Championship 2024 saw participation from 138 players representing various countries around the globe, demonstrating the tournament’s international appeal. The event, which has been a platform for young word enthusiasts since its inception in 2006 in Wollongong, Australia, continues to grow in popularity. Participants from countries such as Australia, Bahrain, Canada, England, and many more have competed in this prestigious annual tournament.

The WYSC is open to players under the age of 18 as of January 1st of the tournament year, making it a key event for nurturing young talent in the world of Scrabble. Over the years, the championship has been hosted in several locations, including Malaysia, Australia, Dubai, and the Philippines, with Sri Lanka being the latest venue to welcome these young competitors.
