Pakistan Parliament Urges PTI Iqbal Afridi to Publicly Apologize for His Misogynistic Comments amidst growing criticism.

Pakistan’s Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNA Iqbal Afridi is under fire for making misogynistic remarks about a woman’s dressing during a National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Power meeting. Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, PPP Senator Sherry Rehman, and Sindh Government spokesperson Barrister Arsalan Islam Shaikh have condemned Iqbal Afridi’s comments, demanding a public apology.

Iqbal Afridi’s objection to a woman’s attire sparked immediate criticism from other members and attendees. Senator Sherry Rehman strongly rebuked Iqbal Afridi, calling his behavior “reprehensible” and labeling it as harassment. She emphasized that no one has the right to judge a woman’s clothing and urged the PTI to hold Iqbal Afridi accountable.

Information Minister Attaullah Tarar also condemned the PTI lawmaker’s actions, stating that harassment of women is unacceptable under any circumstances. He criticized the PTI for its treatment of women, suggesting that Iqbal Afridi’s party membership should be suspended as real justice.

Sindh Government spokesperson Barrister Arsalan Islam Shaikh echoed these sentiments, asserting that the woman’s attire was appropriate and that Iqbal Afridi’s objection was baseless. He called on Iqbal Afridi to apologize for his actions, urging him to be more mindful in the future.
