PMD Forecast Record Breaking Temperatures in Up Coming Week

Record breaking temperatures across the country are forecasted in PMD’s (Pakistan Meteorological Department) report. They had alerted to rising temperatures to high levels till 30 April 2025 in many parts of Pakistan because of a high-pressure system in the upper atmosphere.

In the southern Punjab and southern regions of Sindh and Balochistan, the daytime temperature is predicted to remain 5 to 7 degrees Celsius above till 30 April, 2025. Moreover, central and upper Punjab, Islamabad, KPK, and Gilgit-Baltistan are forecasted to experience 4 to 5 degrees Celsius increase.

In Karachi, maximum temperatures are expected to range between 36 and 38 degrees Celsius, while humidity levels are predicted at 76%, with sea breezes blowing at the speed of 9km per hour.

PMD also forecasted that Sukkur, Nawabshah, Mithi, Sibi, and Turbat are about to experience 45-degree temperatures or higher in the upcoming week. Moreover, PMD reported that Nawabshah, on Sunday 27 April 2025, recorded the highest temperature in the country.

Earlier, the Punjab Education Department decided to start summer vacation in schools due to the predicted rising temperature and to protect students from heatwaves. Summer vacation in schools across the Punjab will commence on 1st June according to the recent issued notification.
