Google hosted the highly anticipated Think Apps 2024 event in Lahore, bringing together over 350 of Pakistan’s leading developers alongside global and regional industry experts. According to a statement release, the event marked a significant step forward for the country’s growing app development ecosystem.
Building on the success of last year’s Think Apps 2023, Think Apps 2024 focused on empowering developers to harness AI for innovation, growth, and sustainability within Pakistan’s expanding application industry. A key area of opportunity highlighted at Think Apps 2024 was the creation of high-quality, sustainable games, with an emphasis on reaching global audiences.
To further its commitment to supporting developers, Google is set to launch new programs in 2024:
- Game Design Masterclass: Think Apps 2024 introduced this exclusive 6-month program designed to equip Pakistan’s top game developers with the skills needed to create high-quality games.
- Google Ads Academy: Think Apps 2024 featured in-person hackathon workshops in Lahore and Islamabad, offering marketing professionals from leading studios hands-on training focused on app growth strategies.
- Build with AI and Cloud AI Study Jams: Think Apps 2024 also highlighted opportunities for developers to deepen their expertise through hands-on AI and Cloud training. Over 9,300 developers have already benefited from this initiative.
These new programs at Think Apps 2024 build on Google’s existing efforts to support Pakistan’s developer community, including the Google App Academy, which has reached over 800 participants. Additionally, Think Apps 2024 emphasized Google’s continued engagement at key industry events, such as the Google Developer Conference (US), CXO meetups in APAC, and APAC’s App Summit, to connect Pakistan’s top gaming and app studios with global peers.
