PUBG Used for Terrorism as authorities uncover that terrorists are exploiting the popular game to coordinate their activities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The game, known for its large global player base, is now reportedly being used by terrorists to communicate in hidden chat groups, marking a new method of coordination in terrorism.
Swat’s District Police Officer (DPO) Dr. Zahid confirmed that this is the first instance where PUBG has been used for terrorism purposes, highlighting a shift from the traditional use of Telegram.
In a recent press briefing, DPO Dr. Zahid explained how three to four terrorists were using PUBG to secretly communicate and plan attacks, taking advantage of the game’s unmonitored chat feature. This disturbing revelation emerged following a successful joint operation between Swat Police and the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), which led to the arrest of three terrorists involved in the bombing of the Navekelay police post. The terrorists’ mobile devices, containing PUBG, provided vital evidence through chat histories used to organize their crimes.
This marks a significant development as it’s the first time terrorists have utilized PUBG for terrorism, raising concerns over how technology and entertainment platforms can be exploited for malicious intent. DPO Zahid assured that Swat Police remain vigilant and committed to safeguarding public safety. The three suspects behind the Banr police post attack have been apprehended, and further investigations are expected to reveal more about their terrorist network.
