Windscreen Prices in Islamabad Rawalpindi Witnessed Massive Increase

Windscreen prices in Islamabad Rawalpindi reached the sky after the hailstorm earlier this week. The storm caused severe damage to the vehicles, leading to a sudden high demand for auto glass and a rapid increase in prices.

The storm came with little warning and turned into a disaster. Many vehicles were found with broken windshields, shattered mirrors, and dented roofs and bonnets across cities. As a result, car owners have been facing difficulties in finding replacement parts after discovering that all supplies are withered in major auto markets.

According to all shopkeepers in Rawalpindi and Islamabad, they have run out of standard windscreens. Moreover, their prices are massively increased.

Windscreen Prices in Islamabad and Rawalpindi:

Usually the cost of a windshield is PKR 15,000, but it is now being sold for PKR 35,000 , if it’s available. Smaller glass components are now priced up to PKR 1,000, which once cost only PKR 100-200. Moreover, in Saddar Bazar, the traders noted that only rare and luxury vehicles’ windshields are still available, but their prices have also reached high levels, increasing by PKR 10,000 to PKR 15,000 recently.

Market sources also revealed that auto repair shops have experienced a high volume of customers after the storm. Many shop owners claimed that they have been out of stock and suppliers have stopped accepting new orders temporarily because of high pressure on the supply chain.
