Indus Motor Company (IMC) has introduced the New Toyota Yaris facelift, accompanied by a price increase ranging from Rs 144,000 to Rs 606,000.
In mid-March, Indus Motor reduced prices for various Yaris models by Rs73,000-133,000, aiming to keep them below Rs4 million, excluding general sales tax.
The new price list from IMC for its authorized dealers shows the updated costs for the Toyota Yaris models: GLi M/T 1.3 at Rs 4,479,000, CVT 1.3 at Rs 4,760,000, ATIV M/T 1.3 at Rs 4,730,000 Â and ATIV CVT 1.3 at Rs 5,604,000, compared to the previous prices of Rs 4,326,000, Rs 4,616,000, Rs 4,586,000, and Rs 4,766,000 respectively. The ATIV X CVT 1.5 with a beige interior now costs Rs 6,255,000, up from Rs 5,649,000.
Bookings for the Yaris begin with a partial payment of Rs1.5 million starting May 24. A dealer mentioned that the price hike is attributed to the facelifted headlights and bumpers. Morever, vehicle prices of other manufacturers above 850cc are also expected to increase in upcoming budget.
Despite sluggish auto sales during the first 10 months of FY24, a positive shift occurred as the State Bank of Pakistan eased import restrictions, boosting the arrival of completely knocked-down (CKD) kits.
According to Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) data, CKD imports increased to $72 million in April from $60 million in March, $50 million in February, and $37 million in January, indicating improved advance bookings for popular vehicles.
According auto industry sources, the upward trend in CKD kit imports suggests a sales improvement, especially from July onwards, contingent on pro-auto industry measures in the FY25 budget.
