CDA Land Acquisition Conflict With DHA Resolved After 15 Years

In a major breakthrough, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has finally resolved the CDA Land Acquisition Conflict with the Defense Housing Authority (DHA), ending a long-standing dispute over 729 residential plots.

This issue, which has been unresolved since 2007-2008, has now been amicably settled, as DHA has officially handed over allotment letters for 729 plots to the CDA. These plots will be offered to the general public, including overseas Pakistanis, marking a significant milestone for Islamabad’s real estate sector.

The CDA Land Acquisition Conflict stems from an agreement made more than 15 years ago when CDA handed over 2,412 kanals and five marlas of land to DHA in exchange for 729 plots. Despite the original terms, the agreement could not be fully implemented for years, leaving the matter unresolved. Under a fresh agreement, DHA has now honored the commitment, transferring the long-awaited plots to CDA.

A high-level meeting at CDA headquarters, chaired by Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa, finalized this historic resolution. The meeting, attended by all board members and senior CDA officials, celebrated the settlement of the CDA Land Acquisition Conflict. Chairman Randhawa emphasized that proactive efforts and a positive approach were key to finally securing these valuable plots, which are worth billions of rupees.

The CDA has announced that the 729 plots will be made available to the public and overseas Pakistanis, providing a fresh source of revenue that will be utilized for the development of Islamabad. The funds generated from this sale will go towards enhancing the city’s infrastructure, improving public services, and driving investment opportunities in the capital. This resolution marks a significant victory for CDA, showcasing its commitment to protecting its assets and furthering the city’s development.
